How To Join The Marines
Some people have the dream of serving their country by becoming a marine in order to protect the people during a crisis. However, it is definitely not a cakewalk to join this special force as there are many requirements to think of. So for those who are interested, here are some tips on how to join the marines.
The first step to entering this world would be to contact an official marine recruiter. It is through him that one will know where to get all of his requirements, documents, and papers for application.
To contact one, first go to the main website, send a message to an assigned recruiter, and wait a few days for the reply. Because of a busy schedule, sometimes these recruiters will take a little long to reply, so while waiting, one should already start practicing and training by going to the gym and running everyday so that he will become fit.
Once the recruiter has approved, it is important to be in tip top shape before undergoing a special school for becoming a marine. So it is important to first become extremely fit by developing a mass of muscles and acquiring a lot of stamina. From there, one may now go to the School of Infantry and train to become a rifleman.
Now if one would really want to pursue becoming a marine, then he should join the Recon Indoctrination Program. Before joining this program, it is required that one have a very high score on the fitness test and some experience on the field. The recruiter will be the one to brief the applicant on the details of the program. However, if one would not really want to pursue being a marine, he should not join.
As stated above, one will have to be in his best shape when he takes the test for this program. He will first have to undergo a series of training that will be facilitated by the recruiter like obstacle courses, fun runs, and swimming. All of this will help the applicant be able to pass the test.
After that, the applicant must now take the official test. Once he finishes it, he still has to be interviewed by the marine team leader. The applicant must not get too cocky at this point because the team leader can still reject him.
In a few days, one will be able to get the results of his test. From there, he will see if he is already accepted or not. If he is, then he will have to start from the lowest ranks first and work up his way to be promoted to a real time marine.
So for those who are interested, here are the tips on how to join the marines. Remember that before entering this kind of field, one must have the right mindset. Many people have already quit halfway because of the grueling physical training that can crush the confidence of a person in just a split second.

How to Build Self-Discipline ?
Discipline is freedom. You may disagree with this statement, and if you do you are certainly not alone. For many people discipline is a dirty word that is equated with the absence of freedom. In fact the opposite is true. As Stephen R. Covey once wrote, “the undisciplined are slaves to moods, appetites and passions”. And in the longer term, the undisciplined lack the freedom that comes with possessing particular skills and abilities – e.g. to play a musical instrument or speak a foreign language.
Self-discipline involves acting according to what you think instead of how you feel in the moment. Often it involves sacrificing the pleasure and thrill of the moment for what matters most in life. Therefore it is self-discipline that drives you to:
- Work on an idea or project after the initial rush of enthusiasm has faded away
- Go to the gym when all you want to do is lie on the couch and watch TV
- Wake early to work on yourself
- Say “no” when tempted to break your diet
- Only check your email a few of times per day at particular times
