How To Make Your Confidence Soar

Attack!

Have you ever had a negative experience in relation to your 'learning' that has damaged your confidence? Huh? Negative experience? In other words, has anyone ever said to you, 'you're wrong', 'you're dumb', 'you're stupid', 'you'll never amount to anything', 'you're never going to achieve anything', 'you're hopeless', 'you're' (you get the picture).

So, with that in mind, ask yourself: have you ever had a negative experience in relation to your 'learning' that has damaged your confidence? Has a higher authority (such as a teacher, older sibling, someone at school, parent or relative) ever told you that you were pathetic, useless or stupid? If so, did you automatically believe it to be the truth? It must be the truth because it came from a higher (and often respected or feared) authority didn't it? Obviously, just because a higher authority says it doesn't make it true. But the impact of these attacks is often subconscious and can lurk deep in the mind - rather than be something the individual is acutely aware of.

Where's Your Esteem?

If you have a low sense of self-esteem you will also have poor feelings about your abilities and your worth. Unfortunately, low self-esteem also results in low achievement level at school. This is because low self-esteem directly impacts your confidence, your attitude, your resilience and your enthusiasm for learning. But we don't want to be negative about it! We want to provide you with some solutions don't we! So, what can you do about it?

Solution Time!

Here are some ideas on things you can do to make your ego soar. Soar like an eagle. Did you ever know that you're my hero? You are the wind beneath my wings. OK sorry it's getting weird. Let's get into it.

1. Remember to pump up your own tires and just be positive - about every single thing! What's the point in being negative anyway - even if it's justified? Try being positive about every single thing for one whole week. That's right - a week. You can do it. Try it. See what happens. It's much better to give yourself and others compliments than to constantly put yourself and others down. Just try it. You'll see.

2. Think of all the things you are good at and all the success you have created. If you're not sure ask your parents or your friends. Write these things down and keep adding to the list as you think of anything. Read the list every morning when you wake up and any time you need a confidence boost. Just write things that make you feel good and you know are true. You will find there are many more amazing things about you than you realized. If you think there isn't you're just being negative again! Focus on the good.

3. Stop comparing yourself with other students. You have no idea what other people's lives are really like because you don't live their life. Things are never what they seem. So what are you comparing yourself to anyway? The only comparison worth making is that of comparing yourself today with yourself yesterday. Are you better today than you were yesterday? If so, how? Always strive to improve yourself each day and you will make huge gains over the course of a week, a month and a year.

4. Help others. That's right others. No, not yourself. Others! You will really feel good about yourself when you do, but that's not really the point. The point is that if you want to create a great sense of worth in your life, see what a difference you can make to other people's lives. Lend a hand. Help your mother with the dishes. Help your little sibling with their homework. Do one thing for someone else every day. See what happens. Also, only associate with people who like, respect, and support you for who you are. Try to avoid people who are always looking to find fault with you. Why would you want to spend time with negative people - they'll only drag you down and they aren't worth your time.

Methods To Overcome The Dread Of Refusal

When we were younger, we had so many ideas about how life should be, many of us had dreams of what we might be, of what we may be; we had thoughts and ideas about life and about love. As we grew older some of those thoughts and ideas changed. The truth is, our mates have an important influence on us and infrequently it is down to the fact of our friends that our thoughts and concepts have changed. Sometimes we find we are so far off the track and we find we are doing things we never needed to do or never thought we might do. Let's talk about different ways to overcome the dread of rejection.

Methods To Overcome The Dread Of Rejection-Be Truthful With Yourself

Many times it's hard to admit that we aren't in as much control over our lives as we would like to be. One of the ways to overcome the fear of refusal is to be honest with ourselves. Many times we become what others need us to be so we may have one area in our lives where we are accepted. This doesn't have to be bad or anything; it simply isn't what you wanted to do. Often we make some awfully bad selections because we don't want to be rejected. Take a fair look at the choices and calls that you have made in the last thirty days and be prepared to implement changes.

Ways To Overcome The Phobia Of Rejection-Possible Implications

Being accepted is probably one of the most critical things in the life of a young person, and in the midst of being accepted we often confuse being accepted with being in love or being loved.

For plenty of us, if we are truthful with ourselves, we have settled for sex for 1 or 2 seconds of feeling cared for, to fit in, maybe for a few moments to escape the sensation of being alone, rejected. I suspect that one of the greatest methods to overcome the fear of being defied is to know some possible consequences of doing things to be accepted. Hear this:

The share of highschool students who have had sexual relations increases by grade. 62 percent of 12th graders had had sex, compared with 33 percent of 9th graders.

Nearly one fifth (17%) of sexually active females ages 15-19 and 9 p.c of males the same age asserted they used no method of contraception the last time they had sex.

About a third (34%) of young women fall pregnant at least once before they reach the age of 20 - about 820,000 a year, and approximately 4,000,000 youths contract a sexually transmitted illness (STD) each year. This is around the same time our bodies are beginning to change and what our peers think about us starts to become critical to us. It kind of sounds right does it not? This is around the same time when we start to feel just like we're alone, we wish to no one truly understands us and we begin to feel a bit like we are becoming adults.

Ways To Overcome The Dread Of Rejection-Accept Who You Are

When we discuss methods to overcome the dread of refusal I think it's very important to state the obvious; it's fine to be who you are and just know there are folk who will respect and accept you for who you are. Well, hear this: Among teenagers aged 15-17 that have never had sexual intercourse, 94 percent recounted that concern about pregnancy, HIV/AIDS (92%), STDs (92%) and feeling 'too young ' (91%) influenced their call to hang about.

Are you able to relate to any of the fears that the people around the same age as you addressed? Being truthful with yourself enables you to make needed changes in your calls, knowing some of the consequences of settling for sex when you wish to be accepted can help you to pick to respect yourself and accepting who you are empowers you to have more control in your life. All these things are efficient methods to overcome the fear of refusal.

Are You Ready To Change ?

Are You Ready To Change?

by Gary Shane
Some can remember a time when a person could come home from work, sit on the front porch and read the daily newspaper while dinner was being made. They would enjoy watching the kids play while long-time neighbors cared for their lawns, feeling secure in living the American dream.
Moving forward...It's a sad revelation that we're now reading more and more reports of people living in poverty, losing their homes, and the American dream itself. The majority of these people never thought they would have to rely on family or government assistance programs to help in the care for themselves or their children.

Having had to ask for assistance myself from family members was the ultimate pride-killer for me. Now don't get me wrong here. I am Not suggesting that anyone that truly needs help shouldn't accept it and be grateful.
I became a broken man. It just seemed the harder I worked the deeper in debt I became, I tried one get rich program after another, Life just wasn't fair I thought. I kept telling myself that it would all work out but I kept falling deeper and deeper into a mental funk and I didn't know how to get back.
Somewhere along the line I lost my way without even realizing it.
My confidence dropped, I became worried and stressed.
I became lazy and did not have a proper diet OR exercise and along with my everyday stress I ended up having triple-bypass heart surgery. My life was a complete mess.
Until I came across a personal development program that I used to change my entire life. Actually there were a series of events that led up to changing my life in such a wonderful way. I would say within a year my life was completely turned around on every level and I was now on the fast track to anywhere I wanted to go in life.
Some of you might say "A YEAR?" but I don't have a year.
REALLY? I ask. Then how do you find the time to continue what you're doing? Where are you and your family going to be if you continue to keep the same mindset and believe things are going to change by doing the same things over and over that don't work?
Am I speaking a bit Blunt? You bet I am. I'm really trying to reach out to those of you that really want to change your life. So many people say they want to change their life but few seldom do.
If you are truly determined to take the stage you want in life then stop messing around and PROVE IT. What are you waiting for? Find a Personal Development Program and use it. Do something TODAY, NOW Ć¢EUR¦NOT Later. For your convenience, I have placed personal development product links throughout this article that you may have interest in.
The time it takes until you begin to feel a change in your overall optimistic view of things will vary from person to person. Some people know what needs to be done and just need a "tweaking" of their thoughts and may feel a change quickly.
My suggestion to anyone would be to simply allow yourself whatever amount of time it takes for you to make the changes needed to become who you want to be. You are Now on a Mission.

How to Build Self-Discipline ?

Discipline is freedom. You may disagree with this statement, and if you do you are certainly not alone. For many people discipline is a dirty word that is equated with the absence of freedom. In fact the opposite is true. As Stephen R. Covey once wrote, “the undisciplined are slaves to moods, appetites and passions”. And in the longer term, the undisciplined lack the freedom that comes with possessing particular skills and abilities – e.g. to play a musical instrument or speak a foreign language.
Self-discipline involves acting according to what you think instead of how you feel in the moment. Often it involves sacrificing the pleasure and thrill of the moment for what matters most in life. Therefore it is self-discipline that drives you to:
  • Work on an idea or project after the initial rush of enthusiasm has faded away
  • Go to the gym when all you want to do is lie on the couch and watch TV
  • Wake early to work on yourself
  • Say “no” when tempted to break your diet
  • Only check your email a few of times per day at particular times

Tips on How to Gain Self Confidence

Part of learning how to gain confidence is an ability to maintain a positive attitude about yourself and your life. A key aspect to being positive is maintaining a sense of hope.I look at hope as simply a belief that there is something good to look forward to in your future. This may relate to many different things, including family, friends, life experiences, holidays and career success. But the problem is too many people look at hope as something that comes and goes, that they have no control over. They think that their hopefulness is simply a reflection of their external situation. If things are going to get better in their lives, they feel hopeful. If things are going poorly, they feel hopeless.

How To Increase The Self Confidence ?

There's lots of self confidence tips online. It's because the fact that big part of our successes and joys are connected to confidence. Every person wants to unlock the secrets to have a better life. After all, it takes self-confidence to complete some of the smallest every day tasks.
If you want to improve your self confidence below are a few steps that can be useful for you:

Would you like to have more self confidence ??

Why do we have to foster self confidence?
There are people all over the world who require self confidence. They think it difficult to face demanding conditions and take a large amount of stress. They don't even have the confidence of talking to someone whom they are interested in. They find it tough to approach new persons and start a conversation. They are uncomfortable speaking in front of many people at school. These problems usually begin from childhood and are very much influenced by the behavior of members of the family and acquaintances. All these things foil anyone from living life freely and expressing himself properly. A person without self confidence before any competition loses mentally and fails to give the very best performance. Self confidence will not only make him successful but will even make him love himself which is very necessary to live happily.

HABIT 7: SHARPEN THE SAW

HABIT 5: SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD
Communication is the most important skill in life. You spend years learning how to read and write, and years learning how to speak. But what about listening? What training have you had that enables you to listen so you really, deeply understand another human being? Probably none, right?
If you're like most people, you probably seek first to be understood; you want to get your point across. And in doing so, you may ignore the other person completely, pretend that you're listening,

HABIT 4: THINK WIN-WIN
Think Win-Win isn't about being nice, nor is it a quick-fix technique. It is a character-based code for human interaction and collaboration.

Most of us learn to base our self-worth on comparisons and competition. We think about succeeding in terms of someone else failing--that is, if I win, you lose; or if you win, I lose. Life becomes a zero-sum game. There is only so much pie to go around, and if you get a big piece, there is less for me; it's not fair, and I'm going to make sure you don't get anymore. We all play the game, but how much fun is it really?
